So last night's show, with Carah back on stage was nothing short of Epic.  I had an amazing view and I literally can't talk at all right now.........severe case of I-screamed-for-an-hour-straight-laryngitis.

Here are my observations from the most anticipated night since....well....since the last time I saw the Guns play live:

 - They started the show with a new song I'd never heard from III..........  It was good, but as with all STG songs, I need to hear it again.

 - Thier set list was almost entirely WAP, with only one song from SOP (Richocette!). They also included Rocketship (Which was awesome of course) and Major Tom (which seemed to be the crowd favorite).

 - Thier entire set was cut short, leaving Jeremy to correct Carah when she anounced another new song (I think they were going to play The Sun?), and tell the crowd that we were being cut short due to curfew.....so they asked the crowd what they wanted to hear.  It was overwhelmingly "You are the One", which they closed with.

 - Carah was amazing, energetic and everything I was hoping she'd be upon her return.  I didn't realize how much she was missed until we got her back.

 - NO DANIEL???  This one was weird???   We spent the whole drive there talking about how different the set was going to be with an added member taking the bass load away from Carah and Jeremy, and then only the original Guns came out.

 - Mikey had no triangle-eye.  Thought I'd mention that.

 - The show had some weird lighting issues that I think were more the venue than STG.  Very dark and light-less set.

 - WORST PART OF THE NIGHT - Apparently, the Phoenix Pride Festival had Meet-n-Greet seats available and we didn't find out about that until they were sold out.  Meaning we could've met the band and sat in the "special section" just in front of the stage.  My daughters made Shiny Kids shirts that said "Welcome Back Carah" on them, and from where we were, I don't think she ever saw them......Oh well, maybe another Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity will come about.

All and all, even though the show was short - it was everything we had hoped for and more.  Unfortunately, its kinda like getting a sneak-peak at III, but not being able to take it home.  I can't wait until they start touring again, cause we'll be hitting the road.

One thing I learned from the this show - THE SHINY TOY GUNS ARE BACK.

Oh how fun!!! Sounds like losing your voice was totally worth it! Tongue

I'm surprised that they didn't play Ghost Town; it's such a fun concert song. In fact, I liked Ghost Town more in concert than on CD. Lol.

Is it weird that Daniel wasn't there? I mean, last we heard, they're still trying to get his visa to bring him into the country...and they haven't told us that he's here yet, so... However, I agree, in a way it's a little odd that they'd preform without him, but then I remember all of their other partial band shows (hybridigital, Jeremy's DJ sets...) and it doesn't seem so strange.

Still, so awesome that you've gotten to see them so early on. I can't wait until they start touring and hit up the middle of the country.

How'd Carah sound singing the Sisely songs? I'd love to hear her sing Major Tom.

She sounded amazing doing Riccochet!...... I was shocked when I heard them start that song and braced myself for a trainwreck.......but after about 4 seconds........it was just my favorite band doing a great song.

I was wondering how it would sound myself, but let's face it.....Carah is the fem voice in STG, so it just works.  After hearing that and Major Tom........I have ZERO questions remaining about the anything regarding Carah, thier live show, and SOP.

The show was amazing and I was one of the lucky 10 people that got Meet-n-Greets! I caught a drum stick as well what a great night! Got to meet the band after the show and got some pictures with them and got a vinyl copy of "You are the One" signed as well as the drum stick. I posted videos on my youtube account I think I have every song played on there but the sound is distorted at times because I was so close to the speakers. Once again it was a great time and it was my first time seeing the Shiny Toy Guns live...lets just say I'm hooked!

BTW you can see how dark the stage was in these vids like NeoCentric said. Jeremy even said something about it..the people who ran the show kinda dropped the ball there.

No Problem at all! I felt like I had such a unique opportunity that I just had to capture as much as I could and share it ..so I just held my flip cam up the entire show..my arm is hurting now but it was worth it even tho the sound came out bad! Meeting them was even cooler..such laid back and good people. Took as many photos as people wanted and signed everything they could. I never did get my silver sharpie back tho lol!

Looking thru my meet-n-Greet footage now and putting it together for one video.

Why was there a curfew issue?  STG doesn't play long sets.  Or was it not due to error but always planned that way (that they would play right up until curfew)?
