Good eyes, Alli! Much better than what I saw.

Not a problem, Matt. No one replied to that thread anyway, so I just deleted my post.

Yeah. But this place is kinda dead.... So. Eh.

We have to decide - Do we want to try and give this place a boost or let it just stay as it is and die off? If we're gonna resurrect it we need something big. I tried asking Jeremy for an old track or something that we could have as an exclusive download for this site. But that was right around the time he stopped talking to me. lol *cuts wrists*

We need some kind of huge epic forum video or something. Haha I don't know. But visiting this forum is like walking through a cemetery.

although i'm new here, this forum is sadly inactive. i've been a fan of the shinys for a long time but there isn't much to do around here if nobody is ever posting. the new album is delayed as well...it's scheduled to be released later this year or early 2012. well, i hope it's later this year so this forum could somewhat come back to life. also, i've been very busy lately with field hockey pratice...

The forum is kinda slow right now, which is very saddening. It is a great place to come and talk to other Shiny fans. Hopefully once everything speeds up for the band (as far as getting more tour dates, more album news, etc) the forum will start hopping again. I really like the forum and I hope it doesn't die off.

Matt, the exclusive old track sounds great...maybe we could also possibly talk to the band and see if they'd create an account? I know Carah posts occasionally on the official Versant forum, so maybe we could do something like that? I definitely don't wanna see this place die off. I like it!

We're working on it right now, guys. We have some ideas that can maybe get this place bumpin again.

Philthy, Jeremy never responded about the exclusive track thing. So I doubt that'll happen. As for Carah or whomever making an account... Well... First we need a forum that has people on it. lol

There's definitely a connection between the band and our posting activity. When there's a lot happening with STG, we have a lot to talk about... and same for the opposite.

Remember how active the forum was around GLD? We were posting frequently then. Unfortunately right now, STG is focused on recording, so we don't have a bunch to talk about.

I always wondered about the band making an account. It seems that it would be awkward with all of a fawning that goes on around here. Lol.

P.S. Did anyone see that tweet about someone stealing their recording laptop? So lame.

I just figured if the band or even someone from the band posted it might help the post count of the forum and the activity in here. That may be something that brings people to the forum. But in general I agree with you, we need people to be here for that as well.

Yeah, you can definitely see the connection with something going on with the band and the activity on the forum. There is always gonna be lulls where the forum won't be that active. I'll start posting more about the forum as well, to see if any stragglers want to join. Smiley

Yeah, I saw the tweet about someone stealing one of their MacBooks...people astound me.

I say we keep doing what we do. I check the forum everyday (I have to check pending members and clear out the endless spambots). I respond to threads that have new comments. I watch for news to post.

Part of me feels that as long as there are even a handful of us here, connecting and sharing and feeling together with this music, it's worth it. Having more people would be nice, and I have no doubt they will come when the album drops. People filter in and out of the forum, and only a few of us have been around since the beginning now. In a few months time, some of us who are here now will be gone, and there wil be new ones. The point is that we keep going, each of us, individually.

I don't feel like the forum is dying, per say, because I know that any news will be caught and discussed by us.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. For a while, I'd been thinking that everyone wanted to quit but me! I know I'll still continue to log in and post.

I'm in this for the long run. I wasn't here when the forum first started, but I enjoy sharing Shiny Toy Guns and this is a big part of it. I would definitely like to see more, but that is more to spread the word of the band and give them an even larger fanbase.

Well,i'm new here, but i agree with you, when the new record will be out more people will join this forum,it's always like this. But in my opinion, this place should be more spammed, maybe on facebook, youtube and on other well known platforms..even through a video promoting the forum but based on stg,for example.

I love this forum. I check it all the time cause one of favorite things to talk about is shiny toy guns. And I really think everyone I know is annoyed by all the new stuff and things I have to say. Here there's already conversations about it to jump in to. Hahaha. Soi dont eant to see this place go anywhere. I think as long as people are posting than the fourm is where it belongs.?

For a while I did go crazy in spamming in on Facebook. We had a few new sign ups, but nothing that stuck.

I do have ideas for video promoting, though.

I've posted things on my twitter accounts and Facebook as well about the forum. I continue to mention it and things like that to try and build membership too, that way we can be a giant fan community.

Video promoting, sounds pretty nifty!!

Hmmmm... I could perhaps make a promotion video but I would need some ideas first. Then after I make the video and put it on Youtube or so, we start spamming it around (and the forum).
Sadly, no one in my town knows the Shinys besides my cousin and one of my best friends. They have discovered STG on their own. When I try to introduce the Shinys to another friend, they just don't seem to get into Le Disko, Chemistry, You Are the One, Frozen Oceans, Rocketship, Weather Girl, The Sun. Seriously, there aren't many other bands that I know do duets regularly. Maybe they just prefer one gender. Well, I'm glad this forum exists so I could talk about Shinys and I hope it won't die.

Yeah, there aren't too many people here in my hometown that know about them either (other than the ones I've been able to reach) but those that I have, really enjoy them! So that's good. I've definitely been spreading the word in both Virginia and Kentucky quite a bit.

Hmmm, ideas for a promo video...I'll start thinking about some ideas. Smiley

I thought of some ideas for a video:
- Effects. (probably the most important to make the video catchy)
- Slogan at the end of the video or so.
- Pictures of the band, maybe?
- What song should be played in the background? If we are going to put mulitple songs, I would need to find a way to make a smooth transition.
- Twitter/Facebook fan communities included.
I will upload an draft video first just for us to make any changes before there's the actual video and we start spreading the word.

Do you think we need to ask permission to use their songs for an advertisement? This isn't exactly the regular youtube-style video.
