I'm curious as to how people do fan remixes?

Not the actual process of it, but where do they get the different instrument and vocal tracks from, if anyone knows? I would expect this would mean you need access to some of the masters, but I could never see a studio just giving that out.

I do a fair amount of music production (Not remixes, just recording and programming), but it'd be a lot of fun to try sometime, which is why i wanna know!

You'd only really need the acapella of the song and a program like GarageBand or a couple of tune samples and Audacity.

Whatever the case, it's a lot of work.

I'm sure it'd be a lot of work, but that's half the fun anyway! Getting vocal tracks might be difficult though...

Yeah, where in the Hell would one get vocal tracks? Ask STG themselves maybe?

I would think there would be a price attached.

Got any suggestions for the best route to go to ask this sort of thing? Do they actually look at any of the sites about them?

Try messaging them on myspace. Or private message STG.net... She seems to know them. So, ask her.

Apparently there's a full Le Disko track segment file on CD 7 of the Logic Pro software... I'm sure you could extract the Acapella from that.

I had a PM a while ago from this dude who told me he had a ****load of rare songs and could send me some. Haven't heard from him since, but he said he had a Le Disko acapella.

Garageband and Audacity? Nope. Audition, or ProTools, or Logic. And the only good fan remix of le Disko is the La Dolce Vita remix of Le Disko. It's on their myspace, and the creator is a frequent poster at the first shiny toy guns forum.

And you're not getting any Acapellas from them. They can't even legally release it. It's up to the record label.

And all those rare songs- I released them as a torrent on The Pirate Bay. Most of them, anyway. And the Le Disko files I'm not gonna be the one to leak- it's too much to upload, and I don't think most people could do much with them (the demographic of people who could use it is the same as the people who buy or know where to get these things). Torrents are your friends people. (EDIT: I realize this sounds harsh. I'm just saying, STG might get pissed about that leak),

Sorry, but can't give it out.

No problems. Can I say that the components are on Disc 7 of the Logic Pro Software?

Oh oops Tongue Too late.

Oh well. People, buy Logic Pro if you want to get the acapella.

Or download disc 7 from the pirate bay and use a DMG extractor.

Although it will be missing the alarm pan synth and the belly pad and the spacious synth pad.
