This is a thread to discuss how long have you known shiny toy guns for? and also how or who got you into them? For me it was my brother who loves soccer and was playing Fifa 07 and started saying hey man theres this song i think you might like, knowing my brother i thought he was going to show me rap (YUK) hahaha but little did i know that that song would be the song that i would look back on when im 30years old and say my favorite song as a teenager was you are the one! So i thank my brother so much for shiny toy guns, he wishes i never found them though coz im always listening to their songs! lol So now its your turn guys!

Lol, I must be one of their newer fans, but I've known them since December '07.

First time I heard the Shinys was in mid April 2006. And I heard the song "You are the one" and I fell in love, and have loved them ever since!

I'm a n00b, actually. I started liking them around...hmm... mid-August? I was on iTunes, looking through the recommendation list, and I played Stripped. Fell in love immediately.

For me it was a car road trip with my best friend. We were both listening to our music when she told me I just had to listen to this band she found.
It was Shiny Toy Guns and we both LOVED it. For the rest of the car trip we just listened to their CD, which had come out a few months prior.
Anyway, I've absolutly loved them since. and I make all my friends listen to them, which has made them huge fans too.

Dam! I wish my friends liked shiny toy guns as much as me, they like it but theyre not the type to register on this website no matter how much i begged them but they promised that if Shiny toy guns would ever come down here they would watch it with me. I just wish Shiny toy guns were a big hit like Simple plan or something

No, you don't want your favorite bands the make it really big. Because then almost everyone loves them and it just ruins the band. I mean, my favorite band isn't that known, but I don't want them to be super known, because it might ruin them a little...but they've done so much for me no one would ever ruin them completely, but still. I moderate another forum (not about music), and almost all of the members are obsessed with Linkin Park. I used to like one of their songs, but with them being so overrated everywhere, now I just hate them.

That is So TRUE! Something similar happened to me once Im sure all of you guys know Apologize by one republic (well i mean you would have to be living under a rock not to know that song lol) but yeh i liked it about 2years ago when hardly anyone knew it they werent as famous as shiny toy guns. But then Timbaland remixed it (for the worse) and now its been overused and i just dont feel the same way about one republic anymore. Last thing id want is for that to happen to Shiny toy guns

I've known about the band for over 2 years now for sure. I fell in love with Le Disko when I heard it and concluded that I just HAD to hear more. I've been pretty hardcore ever since =).

Must have been 2 or 3 years ago. Then luckily saw an advert that they were touring and supporting Fall Out Boy early in 2007.

I don't remember to be honest. I just remember talking to a friend of mine on deviant art about music and she happened to give me some names. One of them was STG and from there I saw the video on Lego and just fell into it. *shrug* XD

I saw them in concert on June 6, 2006, and that's when it began. They played at The Temple Club here in Lansing, MI and I was COMPLETELY blown away and totally in love.
