Do you think that Season of poison will be just as good as we are pilots equal in quality or from what you heard so far you dont think it will match up to what they have already made?
I think after hearing some songs that they have played live on youtube in my opinion season of poison will be better, theres a special song i actually cant wait to hear its called 'Blown away' but what do you guys think?

I think Season of Poison will be better. The band has grown and changed and I think a bit more daring (Ex. Ricochet) I really, really hope they have a lot of up-beat songs and just a few softer songs (Like Frozen Oceans). Either way its going to be SICK! I can't wait!

yeh i heard that in the song titled 'poison' Jeremy finale gets to do back up vocals! Thats something i cannot wait to hear! And i think your right about them being more daring especially with Ricochet! But something really interesting that Jeremy said in an interview was that we dont have 11 ricochets on our albums (meaning of corz not all of their songs are so heavy in dynamics) so thats something to be sure of

From what I've heard on their MySpace of their new songs, I don't think it will be as good as W.A.P. but it will still be a good album! =D

tough to say because you need to bear in mind that 'we are pilots' was a work in progress over a span of 4-5 years. songs were recorded 2 to 3 times, which allowed them to sit on their songs for awhile, think up parts they might have left out, **** with the structure a bit, and go in to the studio AGAIN, only this time with a universal budget. every song on 'we are pilots' was written, recorded, and captured just the way they wanted it.

a lot of ricochet was written while they were on the road, which isn't always the best time to write. the stress behind constantly being on the move, jumping city to city, living in a cluttered motor-home with 6 other people.

my point is, we are pilots is a solid ****ing album from start to finish. 'frozen ocean' is the closing track off of season of poison, a decent song, but doesn't measure up to the 'we are pilots' closer.

at any rate, i hope i'm proven wrong.

So I was very skeptical about Shiny Toy Guns with a new singer. I mean, Carah was like the poster child for STG, if not the whole genre...

BUT ...I promised I'd keep an open mind, and so far, musically at least, the new material has just blown me away. Cheesy

I won't definitively say one album is better than the other. Both are incredible and both of them have their own strong points.
Regardless they have my total support and I can't wait to see them live in Hollywood!!!

your seeing them live.....(so jealous right now) haha
But 'dont praise me' has a good point, because from a lot of interviews that ive seen Jeremy has said that he has always been doing like dance electronic songs before shiny toy guns, for example you guys may not know this but Chad and Jeremy used to be in a band called Slyder and they wrote a song which is a heavy trance song that goes on for 10mintues called Neo-The one. And when they formed shiny toy guns they had time to change neo the one into You Are The One Smiley All all their other projects that they have written as well. But with season of poison they might have still be using projects from a long time ago like they did with We Are Pilots...who noes i guess only way to find out is wait another 16 days.......Cheesy

I have a feeling that Season of Poison will be better, because the band has grown up and matured. It'll be much more deeper, I believe, and with new sounds, I think it'll melt our faces.

I don't think SOP will be as good as WAP but! That doesn't mean I'm not gonna like it.

It's obvious the style is gonna change a little bit seeing they have a new singer.

and besides, bands change styles. it happens. it's not gonna make me stop liking STG.

yeah. and seemingly "newer" songs off we are pilots like 'starts with one' and 'chemistry' are resurrected songs from chad's old band "dangerous insects." goes back to my point that they've had years to lay these songs down just the way they wanted.

Most bands' first album and second album sound crazy different and it can kill off a lot of fans for that reason. Truly, though, the first album of a band is usually the classic best, but you have to love SOP for its own beautiful newness. It is the band we know and love. It is the same people. The same brains. The same love for their fans. They're giving us something new. We will love We are Pilots forever because it brought us to them. They are songs we have known and loved for so long. Season of Poison is more love, another gift, more to tie us to them.

Don't love one above the other. The albums are their children. They want us to love them as much as they do. I am fully ready to adore.

It took a few listens to all the songs on We Are Pilots for me to love them all,
at first i only liked five or six of them, but now i like them all.

from what i've heard of Season of Poisen, i like it very much.
but it will take listening to it several times also before i love ALL of it.

i think it will be really good though,
possibly not as good as We Are Pilots,
or maybe better, but in a different way. you know?

I agree with that. I wanted to like them, which was key to my success in loving them, so I did fall for all of the songs. But originally, I liked most of them and didn't really care for 1 or 2. I think for SOP, I will like most of them and dislike 1 or 2. But I will fall for them as well. Because STG is kind of one of those things I can't ignore part of... I need it in its entirety.

i love how season of poison sounds, but it's not the same STG sound that i fell in love with in the beginning in we are pilots.

doesn't mean that season of poison is going to be absolutely sick. ;]

well to tell you the truth, i was furious when i found out carah left.
i was IN LOVE with her voice, and i thought stg would be completely different from now on.
i left a comment on their myspace, letting them know of my disapproval, but jeremy sent a comment back and reassured me by saying:

"on september 12 I will remind you that you thought we changed into the sound of one song that is 2 minutes and 47 seconds long when we post another tune up here.

patience .. "

so i stuck it out, and then frozen oceans came out and i fell in love. [:
