I was on Youtube and was listening to some back-masked songs and thought, "I wonder...".
So I opened up Audacity and started reversing some STG songs, of course. Did a couple - Ricochet! and Ghost Town. Opened up Rainy Monday and didn't really hear anything until the First verse, which would be the end of the reversed track. No, It wasn't satanic. Its like its a reply to its own song. Like the girl's words are being sung. If you can do it, try it. Its fun. I'll follow up if I hear other cool things in other songs.

Hmm...I do have a program like that. However most of the Shiny Toy Guns songs don't want to work with the program. Sounds like the chorus says something about "I swear to you." Something about "hard to get.." I can't make out really anything else. What's being said exactly?

But I tried some myself. Major Tom seemed to get a lot.

Its funny cause normally when someone thinks of backmasking they think "Oh thats satanic" or something. But I think reverse spech just reflects the emotion of the song. Kinda like Major Tom still talking about space travel and what not. Or Le Disko kinda saying that they are unique. Very intriguing.

Translating another language into gibberish is not the same as listening to reverse speech.

Actually, it is the same.

You see, when you reverse any spoken language- you get gibberish. Finding things that sound like English are coincidences.

For example, in le Disko, I find:
high off sniffing elmer's glue (we're gonna dance on fire)
we're zurück with him (we're the girls le disko) (whispers)- I didn't know the Shinys spoke German.
sexy will be our ruin (we're gonna ride the racecars)
move den öffnen Träum von ihr- More german? Grammatically incorrect, nonetheless.
The book la vista been my dogma- Spanish?

You're gay, move me, must be asian
Say yeah, durch du bekommst, wir lieben euch bewusst (So what's it gonna take, Silver Shadow Believer?). Grammatically incorrect, but means: Through you get, We love you all intentionally

None of it makes sense. It's all what I hear though. It doesn't mean the Shinys speak bad German and leave messages concerning stupid ****.

I can reverse songs on Sony Vegas, but I've never really tried to. Maybe I'll try it soon...I tried it once with a clip and it was really laggy though, so I haven't tried since then. Some songs sound silly backwards.

Use Audacity, it's heaps better. Vegas is mainly a video editing suite (and an amazing one at that).

Well, like they say...To each his own.

I've listened to alot of backmasking over the years.
Each person interprets backward lyrics differently.
I don't know German, Evidently you do. So you hear German. I wouldn't.
And We don't know STG personally. So, none of us can say "Oh they wouldn't do that" and I'm not accusing STG of Backmasking either. In my first post I was trying to imply, without writing it, that the Backwards version of a song is like the Polar Opposite of the song (like Stairway to heaven) or like a reply to the song itself.


You Know, Alistair Crowley taught in his book that magicians (not Criss Angel-ish. The Sorcery kind) should listen to song backwards to learn the language. So, Theres historical evidence of this.
