Last time I checked, it is extremely difficult to do anything worth hearing as a musician, and that's the important part. How long should they take? As long as it takes.
Writers block? Can't get along? Came up with a totally new direction you want to integrate? They aren't building widgets and there is no set time for how long it's supposed to take. An album every 4 to 5 years didn't hurt Michael Jackson or Trent Reznor too much, so we can surely handle 1 and a half years (so far).

I understand that, but it's also part of their job to not release false crap and string their fans along for a bs ride. If it's going to take you time, say it's going to take you time. And I'm sorry but a good musician doesn't need four or five years to make an album. When music is your life, it should come to you naturally.

Bjork is almost irrelevant. Her music all sounds exactly the same, so two years is ridiculous. And time DOES matter. If you take too long, people lose interest. And if you're a good enough musician, quality shouldn't be a problem.

But versant wants too be the best version of themselves to give the best pice of their work... Like what STG did.. The rerelease WAP three times!!! Each one covering the same material, but oh, so differently....

THANK YOU!!!! All this anti-Versantness was making me squeemish. And time DOES matter. If you take too long, people lose interest. And if you're a good enough musician, quality shouldn't be a problem.
lol... I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. if not, that's sort of a ludicrous statement. and while I do agree about the people can lose interest thing, I don't think that's a factor here. The only people who even know about Versant are mostly the Carah fangirl/boys who are wetting themselves over every little thing they do. So I doubt they'll lose interest before March. And Versant hasn't really strung us along on a bs ride I think. I mean... at least they updated their page saying the release is later. They coulda just not updated anything and not let anybody know until way down the road. I feel like they keep us pretty up to date and informed as things happen. *coughsomethingtheshinysdontevendocough* Also, we have no clue how long the EP will be. Some EPs can be three songs, some can have 9. EPs don't have to be short. As a matter of fact, I recall Relient K releasing a two-part FORTY SONG EP. No, not LP, an EP. All EP means is extended play. so... I'm really not too worried. I was just initially upset that the date was pushed back. This made me laugh. It's true. They should make time for their job. I doubt they spend 40 hours per week working like regular people either.
idk Kara. Almost every time they tweet it says they're writing and recording. Also, I know Carah's going to school over there, they've been having problems with their bass player, and who knows what else kind of **** they've been facing. And at this rate it's possible we could get Shiny Toy Gun's "Three" EP before Versant's. Ugh! I highly doubt that's even close to a possibility. Versant are probably near finished with their release, and Shiny Toy Guns have absolutely no new info whatsoever regarding this new release. All signs point to Versant getting the first release. oi... sorry about the super long post. just a lotta stuff on my chest. xP hope this actually gets read. lmao

Each one covering the same material, but oh, so differently.... WAP was also released with three different labels. They didn't just say, oh lets do it three times. Versant is new. They need a big bang for an opener. They built and built and built.. slowly releasing songs... And now we come to find that it's not even gonna be a full album? It'll be some half-assed cd in which we've basically heard the majority of already? That's called pulling a fast one. They could have done a full album. To be honest, I can't stand the whole "Oh we'll do an EP and slowly grow on it." **** that. GIVE US AN ALBUM. A full strong meaningful album. I understand STG will be releasing an EP or w/e it is, but Season of Poison is still relatively new.. So this makes sense. It shows that they are at least doing something. Versant is an epic mess right now.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Way to quote me back into this "argument", Joe. Oy, I quit after Matt started getting really intense about things. I would like to clear up the last quote of mine you used (which I feel was a misguided attempt to prove a point to Matt). And at this rate it's possible we could get Shiny Toy Gun's "Three" EP before Versant's. Ugh! No, I do not know who's will come out first; that's why I said "possible". It's just that "March" and "Spring" are synonymous to me. There's a 3 month window, as far as I'm concerned, for STG to release their EP within what they're saying, otherwise they would have said "Summer." Versant has been working on an EP for a year and they've been telling us about it. STG only recently told us, but they sure as hell haven't been just touring. We cannot assume that they haven't been writing as well just because they haven't told us much. They could be just as far along in the process. All I'm trying to get at is that Versant could make another delay of a month or two and end up at the end of the Spring months. So, you see it is possible that STG's could come out first. As far as I can tell: Yes, Versant appears to be further along. Yes, Versant keeps us in the loop. No, Versant isn't good at planning their targets. This is their third change. No, STG doesn't consistently give us information. Yes, STG is more experienced as a band. Yes, it's plausible that STG is better at keeping to their targets. Especially, when they aim for a time period with a little wiggle room. I hope I haven't angered you. I just want you to understand that we don't have all of the facts, so we cannot know who will come first.

I still like Versant a lot. I never said I hated them. There's still love here!
Also, this thread is to discuss Versant. That could include showing love, hate, or extreme annoyance (as appears to be the current theme).
