Does anyone know anything about this? All I can find is that it's at 8pm. I may have discovered the address of the Victory Bowl as well....although my searches bring up a lot of football and not a lot of Shiny Toy Guns.

I would really love to go and see them, but I'm having trouble finding ticket information or any information really. If you know anything about this, please let know. Thanks.

Their myspace is the same as their website. There's a link that leads to another link, which doesn't say much. I haven't tried messaging them. I don't have a myspace account...

if you ask about a tour date, they usually send you an email address to write to. Let me dig it up... I'm going to PM it to you to avoid any complications that could arise from too many people getting it.

I think I love Sisely just as much as Carah now. Though I never saw Carah sing live, Sisely was awesome! And Chad. And Jeremy. And Mikey. Pretty much STG stole the show (even though they didn't technically win).

Gotta say, I hate country, but coming out of Chad it worked. And maybe I just love him that much. Cheesy

I have much incentive to see them again at a "regular" concert where they can play all of their songs in their normal fashion. I wish that they would be in Dallas every weekend until Feb.

Rainy monday was played?  I sort of barely remember it.
Someone help me fill in the blanks of my memory here, but here's what I remember (help me with the order too if you can)...

Warm-up Set
You Are the One
Don't Cry Out
Rocketship
Challenge Set
Jackson-5 song "Never Can Say Goodbye" (cover)
Unknown song
Le Disko (Erykah Badu's band took over mid-song)
Ghost Town (Erykah Badu's band took over mid-song)
Unknown (partial) Erykah Badu song where the Shiny's took over mid song
Starts With One (ballad style?)
Ricochet (what style?)
Waiting (special guest DJ)
Chemistry of a Car Crash (country; just chad on acoustic with a black country hat and Sisely sitting on a stool singing occasional harmonies)

Collaboration
STG and Erykah Badu & the Cannabinoids jam for maybe 10+ minutes through a slow jam and then a dance beat.

I can't remember which song was done in Reggae style but I remember Chad sang during part (or all) of it and Mikey started out the song with the typical reggae hihat swing beat.

And did anyone find out why there were so many pro video cameramen there?  Can't just be for a 3 minutes youtube promotion.  They had two cameras on big booms and at least two cameramen in the pit.  They're planning on using that proshot video footage somehow and of course I'd like to know how.

You're right. It was Chemistry as country. I totally don't remember the order of the songs and I could be wrong about Rainy Monday. I thought I heard it but my memory is fuzzy. I just know it was an awesome show.

And dude, I wish I would have know you'd be there. I would tried to meet you and say hi. Smiley

I think the cameras were around because of the big football game.

Some more comments...

I'm not sure if I've ever heard STG start a concert with "You Are the One".
The covers were all great. I was impressed.  STG are cover experts.
On "Waiting" they had (presumably) one of Jeremy's DJ friends come out. He was wearing a handkercheif tied over his face like a wild west outlaw and a old timey leather football (joke) helmet. They performed "Waiting" in the usual style but with DJ scratching and effects going on, which actually made it more like the album version in some ways.
Ricochet was done like a plugged version of their unplugged radio station performances. Both Waiting and Ricochet are on Youtube.

The country "Chemistry of a Car Crash" was really interesting because Chad didn't just put on a southern drawl for it, he really changed his singing style and melody tendencies to match a typical modern country singer.  I would have rather heard it normal style since I haven't heard it live in so long, but it was interesting.
On the reggae style song they did (still don't remember which one it was), they didn't stay very true to reggae.  I enjoyed it though, but Chad didn't even try the white boy reggae singing like Bradley Nowell, and there was no strong upbeat.

They kept rating our yelling for each band with a loudness meter and we kept tying, so going back and forth yelling was starting to get old. In the end the score was 5 to 5 and the Cannabinoids won the tiebreaker by one decibel, then as the MCs started to say something about one more song from the winners (which would have sucked since the Shinys lost) Jeremy interrupted and called for the Cannabinoids to come over to their stage and make a song up.  Their band had about 8 people in it, so watching them and the Shinys meant about 12 musicians on stage.  They all hugged and seemed like they knew each other.  Chad had set up a tom & snare for the previous song that Mikey played on while a Cannabinoids musician played his drumset. Chad played a very capable slow jam bass line while Jeremy manned his usual spot at a synth and the other Cannabinoids played guitar and the other two synths on stage while a backup singer rapped. Sisely sang a short bit early on, then later after Erykah had made it on stage and was freestyling she sort of turns to Sisely as if to say "your turn" and Sisely got shy. I couldn't tell what Sisely said but it made Erykah laugh. In fairness, it wasn't exactly karayoke night. Sis has Erykah Badu standing right next to her and is being asked to freestyle...I'd get shy too. Later Sisely yells at Mikey (now manning the drumset) for a dance beat and the tempo picked up.

I had a different take on the Cannibinoids country cover. Erykah seemed to be hamming it up because she didn't feel comfortable doing a country cover sincerely.

The band seemed to really be interested in this unusal concert format.  I'm sure it beats playing the same setlist 5 times a week for 3 months straight. Mikey seemed in especially high spirits as well as Sisely, of course.

It was kind of different when the Cannabinoids would play and you could turn back around to the Shinys stage and see them just chilling out next to you just listening too.

Chad's singing was great that night.  The sound was great too, other than not having a vocal speaker pointed near the front (as usual), and the atmosphere was awesome for an outdoor concert on a crisp, clear night.

Overall, it was a nice change of pace sort of concert relative to their usual, and I really enjoyed it, though they ultimately only played a few songs in their normal style and in entirity, so that was the tradeoff.

At one point, STG started a song and all their fans cheered in recognition, but I didn't recognize it. What was this song?

Found this:
http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/dc9/2009/10/erykah_badu_the_cannabinoids_a.php
Erykah Badu andThe Cannabinoids rehearse in front of television cameras. Footage from last night's rehearsal and tonight's performance are expected to be used for a TV show down the line.

Also this news of digital EPs was new to me...
Though currentlly flying to a few gig a week and spending its down time in the studio preparing two upcoming digital EP releases as well as a remix album, Dawson says his band really enjoyed the idea of the concept for tonight's event.

Oh cool, I guess, for the Cannabinoids to use footage from the concert.

I haven't a clue what song everyone cheered at that you didn't know. Do you remember anything specific about it? I also cheered every time they came back on since I wasn't really interested in the other band. Maybe it was general excitement and love of STG? I was extra excited when some of my favorite songs were played. I really wish I could remember the reggae style song for you! I can say the only song I didn't immediately recognize was the Jackson cover (and the Cannabinoid take-overs).

I feel like my input is kind of lame compared to yours (HUGE post up there). Smiley

I agree about the weather being perfect and Chad singing fantastically. I mean, I expected good things from the show, but I was still surprised at how good the vocals were.

Alright, did some remembering and research about the Soundclash. I've reordered some of the songs and broke them up into their rounds. So, no Rainy Monday (I did listen to WAP on the way to and from the concert, so it is entirely possible that's where I remember hearing it...) and the reggae style song is the same as the dub song. You named them all the first time and I reorganized them for you. Smiley

Warm Up:
You Are the One
Don't Cry Out
Rocketship

Round 1: The Cover
Both bands performed the same song.
Never Can Say Goodbye by MJ

Round 2: The Take-over
The bands start their songs and the others finish them.
Le Disko
Tyrone by the Cannabinoids (Shiny take-over)
Ghost Town
On and On by the Cannabinoids (Shiny take-over)

Round 3: The Clash
Each band performs 3 of their songs in the suggested styles.
Ballad: Starts with One
Dub (Reggae): Richochet
Country: Chemistry of a Car Crash

Round 4: The Joker (Special guest)
Shiny's special guest was DJ Billy Sexcrime from OU.
Waiting

Shiny/Cannabinoids collaboration for 10 mins or so. Cheesy
