Ya know, the lot of us are pretty kept up with the latest news and happenings with STG.
I mean One of us posts tweets, some actually mail STG and get info, some go to concerts and stuff and some of you get the early tips for new remixes and rare songs.
So I'm thinking....wouldn't it be cool if we started a STG news channel on youtube. "Shiny News". So then we can post vids like every end of the week or so. We could have a team, and have a few "anchors" to upload vids. Like have a few of em to change things up. Im not very savvy concerning the editing and stuff. I would just try to keep a vid close to 8 mins or less, and do it in one take. or a cool person could edit and junk. I'm just running an idea, since i dont see many band news channels.
So, would anyone like to help.
I wouldnt mind being an "anchor" since i do vlogs every once in a while.
Yeah lets just chat about it.
Just wanna do it to promote STG and get the news out quick.

If we do this thing, we should keep the videos to 4 minutes or less. Once you pass 4 minutes, people get bored. Just something I've noticed over the years of watching youtube.
I might be up for editing, now and then, and occasionally anchoring. But not too often. I have a lot to balance in my life, and can't afford to focus on youtubing too much.

I like the idea. I wouldn't want to anchor (I don't post videos of myself on the internet). I don't have any video editing experience either.
Maybe I could help/learn for the video part? Or help plan the sequence of "news" during the 4 minutes? I'm a really good organizer.

Awesome! Im happy we are team! I woudn't mind being anchor. lol But 4 minutes does sound good. on the "news'" portion on this forum, We can extract the week's Top News and report. I dont have a great cam, so we'll have to bear with what i have lol....a quick cam. But Thank you guys for the help. I have you on my AIM Matty. But I have sykpe...so if you guy have it, I'll add. Im on A LOT. Its fine, Alli. Don't worry too much about it. Just Let me know when you want to  Kara, that would be great if you decided the order of the topics. Not sure exactly when we can get it running. But I'm going to make a channel, and get it all set up. But perhaps we can start gather what to do this week. Any maybe have a vid up by this thursday.....? I know you guys can be busy. So I'll be sure to post on thoughts. |

Uh, when I said organize I meant collaborate with someone on what order (hence sequence...) we want to present the topics. Work has been very busy for me lately and I've been putting in overtime. I don't have time to gather the news, currently. Possibly later on though. Sorry.  |

yeah i didnt mean gather. sorry =] Its cool. Whoever is available at the time, we can deliberate on the order. and i dont think its obsessive to help a band out with stuff and get the news on them out. It'd be different if i was constantly messaging them for info. Whatever news they release, we will compile into one vid, that happened during the week. I'm not even gonna entertain the debate. If you dont wanna help or anything, thats fine. I admit, at first i thought it was childish and no one would want to help or be a part of it. Hele, did u watch my vid by any chance? I clarify why the channel is up. Its mainly for the news. Whatever, It sounds like a lot of fun and its going down  |

If I was a band, I wouldn't like the members of a tight-knit forum making vlogs at every little move I make. |

Thought this was a forum, and everyone asked for my opinion (as well as the opinions of everyone else) by opening this topic. I'm not putting you down, Lash, I just don't agree with the idea. If I was a band, I wouldn't like the members of a tight-knit forum making vlogs at every little move I make. They're artists. Why the hell would they not want news of their work getting around to their fan base? This isn't stalking or anything like that. If Lash were posting things like "This is where Jeremy and Chad had lunch today!" Yeah, that's creepy. But posting something like "New music coming this spring!" is actually working in their favor. |

A vlog would be more entertaining. We could make it fun and informative at the same time. It doesn't even need to be Shiny Toy Guns through and through either. STG could be the base of the vlogs but face it - We wont always have STG news every week. We can stem off with news on other great bands similar to STG and such. |
