Well, as I am sure I am not the only one to have seen.... there is starting to be an actual LIST on the TOUR dates. This always makes me happy, as it seems once STG gets in the tour ZONE, dates will spring up on that list like bunnies in the springtime. And, just in case anyone wondered.... I am driving to Tulsa next week to see their show on Wednesday with Owl City. SO happy about that !!!!! (Especially since I DID NOT make the list for the Indiana show. *pout*) I will have ubers of photos (and video if I can swing it) when I get back. - The Felinist

I will be seeing them with 30 Seconds to Mars. In this venue, there will be seating arrangements. So, I got a reserved spot IN THE PIT. BOO YAA. But I won't see them at Coachelle this year.

(Especially since I DID NOT make the list for the Indiana show. *pout*) I am killing myself for not making the 4 hour drive to see them there. I just know I can't swing it and still be able to function at work the next day (this lady needs her sleep). I feel like the worst fan. My only consolation is that I will be seeing one of my other favorite bands in just under a month with my bf. And if I were to go, I'd totally say we should meet and say hello.

You are?
My excuse just failed.
I used google maps and discovered that your drive is just as long as mine AND you're starting work earlier than me.
I'm going to have to think on this some more. I might just have to be irresponsible and have fun. I'll let you know.
---
I wonder...how many songs do you think STG will play if it's an Owl City concert? While, I don't necessarily dislike Owl City as much as I used to, I wonder if it would be worth it for just a few Shiny songs?

Guess I learned the hard way why you need to subsribe to the Shiny's twitter. One of the few advantages to living in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma is getting to see the Shiny's more and I just missed a free concert 50 minutes from where I live (in Stillwater). The OKC Thunder pre-game. They only gave two days notice. I wasn't doing anything that night and in fact I watched the whole game at my apartment with my brother. Anyway, as irritating as that is. I did just see them play with Owl city. Great video blog Felinist. Setlist: SWO Ghost Town Shaken Le Disko Rainy Monday Major Tom (first live performance I've personally heard) Richochet Stripped Rocketship Don't Cry Out You Are the One Great, if not unique, setlist. I'm not sure I've ever seen a STG concert that didn't start with SWO and end with YAtO. But if they play SWO, Shaken, Stripped, and Rocketship at every concert I attend for the rest of their career I won't complain. ...some things I remember that stood out. The end of Shaken was very heavy on the backing synth (as opposed to the little melodic riff and the rest of the mix) and it gave it a really sinister vibe that was great. In Rainy Monday Chad really went crazy with what seemed like more than a half minute of falsetto...what's the word, melodizing? It all sounded pretty sweet from where I was standing (more towards the middle but farther from the barrier than Felinist, who was probably interested in staking out prime Mikey real estate. I actually like to get away from Mikey because the cymbal bashing gets loud.). The overall sound was probably as good as I've heard at a Shiny's concert, so I was pleased with that. On another note, I'm really starting to notice Chad's playing coming along. Compared to the guitarist of just about every other band I've really been interested in, my past opinion was probably that he's not that particularly skilled **shrugs** . He's always been a sort of loose guitarist who doesn't play things the same way each night, which is interesting to watch. But he's looking less and less like he's fighting with it to get what he wants. Or maybe he just finally got a full night's sleep. Sicily was great with the audience and fun to watch as usual, but the pitchiness is getting to be a bit much IMO. I understand her philosophy is more to rock out than to try to give Xtina a run for her money but she wouldn't get out of the American Idol parking lot singing like that. Jeremy did his thing. Also, apparently the All-American Rejects drummer was in the crowd to watch the show (I read this online after searching Shiny Toy Guns Owl City in google). Felinist, at what point in the concert did you leave the venue to catch the Shiny's out back?

Yep, I am always standing by the Mikey spot - you are so right !!!! I could reach out and touch him if he was Chad. *looks around for Alli* I agree about Chad's improvements, although I always thought he was pretty talented. (Course, I have seen him play life now countless times, so...) And yes, Sisely is WAY pitchy. The last three times I have seen them, it sounded like she was ill. I mean that in a nice way, of course, but she didn't always sound like that. As to your last question... I went to the side of the stage (where they had some space for performers and their crew, where I caught Mikey and talked with him for a while. Then once Owl City had played one song, I went outside to catch the rest of the Shinys. (I had JUST seen Owl City in Kansas City not even two months ago, so I didn't feel too bad about leaving that part.) STG is prone to leaving after a show fairly quickly, and I knew if I watched the whole Owl City performance, I would miss getting to chat with them. - The Felinist

I got Tomo autograph and I am keeping it. Their new album is awesome. I also got Mikey's autograph on WAP version 2. I wish I had this album early so Jeremy And Chad could sigh it. Hooray! Sounds rad.
I didn't even think to bring a CD last time I saw them. Totally missed out on a signature opportunity. I'm glad you were able to get Mikey's though and be able to talk to Chad and Jeremy!
Also, I agree. This is War is pretty awesome.

I bought WAP 2 version at the show. I wish I had it before the show. Jeremy and Chad would have signed it. He said he would be at the gate at the end of the show but I looked everywhere and he could not be located. I also tried to located Sisely but I could not find her.

I was gonna write a detailed comment on how I felt about the aforementioned topic of Sisely's pitchiness, but then I got all lazy and such.

So...you know they were doing some touring and then stopped to work on their album? Well, I read on Facebook that they're planning on a fall tour. It was in the comments, so nothing official, but I think we have something to look forward to before the cd.

I thought the CD was coming out in Fall? Wouldn't it make sense for them to start touring after the CD releases?
