I was originally hoping someone would care to chime in with their own thoughts on a song or two.  Anyone?  Maybe Oceans or ...hmmm

I'm not a fan of music "critiques of art" in general.  They're usually pretty worthless.  So I just approached it as writing exactly what I'm thinking or enjoying when I'm lost in the music and that's all.  Can't be wrong (for what it's worth) if you stick to that.

..and being musically super specific too was another goal.  Pure generic opinion is boring because why should anyone care?  You don't know me.  But if I say something specific about the music it's different, 'cause you do care about the music.

I just haven't taken the time to review the songs. There's been some discussion in other areas too:

Frozen Oceans is the song that made me fall deeply in love with Shiny Toy Guns. It was back when I first got into them in October 2008 and found a leak of Season of Poison.

I just remember being totally engrossed in the song. As soon as I listened. I seriously felt as though I was in a very, very dark open space, with fog all around. Suddenly I looked down and realized I was standing on frozen liquid and began getting enveloped by it as if I was in icy, cyan quicksand.

I think Sisely's voice is perfection in this. I can't describe it. I feel like it evokes this emotion of when life is caving in on you, and you feel very numb. Almost in a state of shock. Like a zombie or something. And the chorus it feels like there's a small sliver of hope you'll see/find your other half.

I love the synths. The build up. And I don't think the "I can't wait" part is too drawn out. It's perfect, and when it just explodes at the end I feel like I'm getting shot out of a canon.

Sigh. It's definitely my favorite song by them if you can't tell. xP
