so im on the shiny toy guns facebook page today where i see a fan talking about one of the songs, and at the end he says, "You should come to Bozeman MT". Its so weird because that is where i live and i've never met this person in my life!

Well, I live in Cairns, Australia. I don't know everyone there either.

Am I missing something? Seems like a bit of a dopey thing to say.

Well, there are a lot more people in Carins than there are in Bozeman.

You both have good points. My parents town only has 14,000 people, which is much less than Bozeman at 27,000, and I don't know everyone in my town either. 27,000 seems a lot to me for expecting to know someone. However, I do think you should meet this person (in a nice public area with lots of people). You could make a new friend!

27,000 people? And you expect to know one specific person out of that?

Sorry, but that's wishful thinking if I ever saw it...

Still, be nice. There's no need to be mean without provocation.

Certainly nothing unusual about not knowing one person out of 27,000, but I think the point was...
someone else from that town is a big enough fan to post that tour request and verzuzula happened to notice it, neither of which are a given.  Although it probably could have been thrown onto the end of another post rather than getting its own thread, lol.

The other day as this dude got up to leave the pc lab, he threw on his headphones and I heard the opening synth strains from YATO bleeding through.  For some reason I felt a little shock, " Shocked another Shiny's fan!".  Then I realized I'm in Oklahoma and STG aren't exactly unheard of.  But technically, he was probably the first person I've come across (in person) who liked Shiny Toy Guns who I didn't meet at a concert or something like that, and that can leave you feeling a bit subconciously like you're the only one in the entire state, much less a small town, when of course you're not.  I mean, I've only heard STG on the radio maybe 6 times.  Most of those were YATO 3 years ago (which is how I discovered them, so radio airplay is important).

Hehe. I like this story. My heart always beats faster when I meet a stranger who likes a band that I do.

my point was he is only a year older than me which narrows it down a lot from 27,000 (considering we only have one public high school.) plus it was interesting that i noticed him write on the wall out of all the shiny fans out there.
