Okay, why don't we have a Daft Punk thread? This is terrible.
There. Better.
Did you guys like the Tron soundtrack? I think Daft Punk did a great job, though some songs I could do without.

Ohh, well, I was just so in the mind of wanting Daft Punk, electro music, that some of the scores were kind of... boring to me. They're great, but not when I'm in the mood for electronica/dance.

I love me some Daft Punk.
The Tron soundtrack was pretty good.
Why?
Derezzed. Enough said.

Hah. I've been huge on DP since I was 13....when "Discovery" came out. i think the Tron ST is great. I'm happy they came back with something. Its been like 6 years. Hmmm, what if this was the movie that STG was gonna take part in....It is a Disney movie.

Oh my gosh, I am so glad you commented on this !! I was SOOOO excited upon hearing the first release of Derezzed several months ago when they did the Tron teaser in theatres. I bought the soundtrack to Tron Legacy and listen to it daily. The derezzed track, "Son of Flynn" and the music in "The Grid" track are probably my favorites. All in all, I thought they did a great job of immersing the viewer in the digital 3D realm of the Tron universe, and am very pleased with the album.
I think STG could definitely compete with a soundtrack album, but honestly, this pairing of Daft Punk with Tron was perfect, and I don't know that their music (DP) would be as appropriate for other movie genres, as much as I love their compositions. This was just a match that might have been a one time thing.
Just my two cents.

I don't appreciate the tone of that comment right there, Lashy. Nor what it insinuates. ¬_¬

I think she's saying it sounded like you implied your opinions of Daft Punk are superior because of the longevity of your fan status.

Nah. I was just saying that after the few years, without them bringing out some major work, its nice to see new work.
If you took it that way....*shrug*

I think it was just the "Hah" at the beginning that made it seem that way. Px

Ohhhhh. Snap. I didn't realize that the 'HAH" implied that. I apologize as well ----------- In my opinion, Daft Punk used a lot more tech for this album. A LOT.

Oh, I admit some of the songs crackle with effects, and I relish it. But some don't really, though it's still there. I like Hans Zimmer, too, so ultimately, the album was a win, and I like the collaboration very much.

Hold on. Daft Punk collaborated with Hans Zimmer for this soundtrack? I think I need to go look this up now. I love Hans Zimmer's music.

Yeah. He was in charge and knew Daft Punk would be ideal, so they did it together.

Well in all the years of me being a fan of them, the "tech quality" has advanced through each album. Listen to one song from their first album "Homework". And so on. You'll notice by "Humans After All", the "tech" has changed. Layers, upon layers, upon layers. Its Fantastic!
