Here's a video I made.. It may get taken down though.. It does contain a few clips from Season of Poison... so.. It depends on STG.net. Concerning the vid.. there were man errors during the upload.. the image freezes around the one minute mark for a couple seconds... and other times where the edit was too quick and instead there's just an awkward stillness. Hah thanks! But I was kinda ticked at how bad it turned out through uploading (effin youtube). Some of the effects and editing skills didn't turn out right.

So yeah... UMG had youtube remove my video.. It's still playing on here for the time being... But basically they just told me to cut the **** and took it off...
Ridiculous. It's not like I was posting full songs or file sharing or some crap.

Ah, that sucks.
YouTube took down 17 of my videos once....when they started removing tons of people's videos not too long ago...I make videos with songs with clips from movies/video games. Pretty popular things to make, called AMVs (Animated music videos). All my AFI ones were removed.
It suuuucks.
I saw part of your video last night, it's really cool.

It's pretty lame to take down stuff that's in support of the music/movies/games it uses. It's not illegal.. I don't get what the issue is here.

it's "copyright infringement". i don't see why the companies throw a bitch fit over it, though. they're not doing any harm, and if there's a viral video on youtube of their video game/movie whatever, that's definitely attracting attention to them, and it's pretty much free advertisement that someone else is doing for them. but i guess that the youtube just doesn't want to get sued over it all, even though they have enough money that a low-class lawsuit like that wouldn't even matter to them.

Yeah, but it's not like people can download youtube videos... It's just a site to show off your stuff... Whether it be fan work or original work.. That's how youtube was. I don't know what happened... It's ridiculous really.
The video actually sparked interest in people who either weren't aware of the new album or what it would sound like... So dumb to get rid of free advertising.
Like, when I finish my Ricochet music video and upload it, will it be deleted as well?

actually, you can download youtube videos, it's just not a feature that's built into the website. there's several Mozilla Firefox add-ons that let you download them, but it saves it as a flash file, and if you want an actual video file, you have to convert it. still, they shouldn't hold all that against them since it's not their fault that other people created software to let people download videos from their site.

Exactly. I'm well aware of those programs.. even programs that allow you to rip myspace music. But that has nothing to do with youtube itself. That's not a feature on it's site.
Besides, the video contained three short samples... Not full songs. If you go on STG's myspace there's a bitch amount of samples.. Actually, as of today the entire album is on their page.
So irritating.
